Do you enjoy singing?

Would you like to help raise funds for St Ann’s Hospice?

If your answer is YES, you are invited to sing with St Ann’s Hospice Festival Choir which was founded by John Pomphrey, our Music and Artistic Director. The aim of the choir is to raise funds for, and awareness of the work of the Hospice, whilst enjoying singing for pleasure.

We have two annual concerts in June and December, at Stockport Town Hall.  Rehearsals are at Cheadle Hulme Methodist Church on Friday evenings 7.15 – 9.30pm. for 9 weeks prior to each concert, so many of our choir member also sing with other choirs. Generally, we have one Sunday afternoon rehearsal from 2pm to 4pm in addition to the above.

How To Join

Prospective members need to attend a short, informal voice placement audition. Please use the form below to enquire about membership.

Members pay an Annual Fee  – for 2024/20245 this is £90 – payable in August each year.  This donation covers the cost of all 18 rehearsals, provision of music and includes the concerts.

Other ways to support the choir...

Running the choir inevitably costs money both in terms of hiring of rehearsal rooms, purchasing new music to add to our repertoire, printing of programme, fliers, and hiring concert venues.  For every £ we spend on these things, the amount we are able to give to the Hospice is reduced. Sponsorship and donations are therefore very welcome to help in covering these costs.

If you would consider sponsoring a concert by contributing towards the printing of programmes, fliers, or even the hire of the concert venue (Stockport Town Hall ) we would love to hear from you. If you would like to to make a donation to the choir please contact us using the form below.
